Hello,

Welcome to my website!

Thanks for reading this, here is a little about myself. I am a self-taught owner-operator with a diverse set of skills that I bring to every project. Key strengths include problem-solving, writing and conceptualization, directing, cinematography, drone operation, and editing.

My gear includes a Red Monstro paired with a variety of lenses and a Sony A7S III. I also have a solid lighting setup and professional audio equipment to ensure high-quality production values. As a FAA licensed drone pilot with FPV flying skills, I bring dynamic aerial perspectives to my work.

I've worked with numerous camera systems including Arri, Red, Sony, Canon, Fuji, Blackmagic, among others, which has helped me adapt to a wide range of production environments. Early in my career, I built a reputation in the snowboard industry, leading to a fulfilling role at Jones Snowboards since 2019. This experience has enriched my storytelling capability and industry knowledge.

During my time at Jones, I held dual roles as the in-house video manager and the global team manager. Throughout this time, I played a key part in generating over 6 million views, accumulating 300,000 hours of watch time, and achieving more than 30 million impressions. Additionally, I successfully doubled the subscriber base.

My work often took me into the field, where I gained valuable experience shooting under challenging conditions and prioritizing safety in harsh environments. Managing these demands alongside my video production responsibilities honed my ability to adapt and deliver high-quality content consistently.

As a team manager, I further developed my interpersonal skills by overseeing 100 athletes and ambassadors, balancing leadership with a full video workload. This combination of experiences allowed me to transition from creating primarily product-focused content to crafting engaging narratives that truly connect with our audience.

I take pride in my contributions to our digital presence, including Instagram and digital ads, and I cherish collaboration, whether bringing my own ideas to life or supporting others'. If you're reading this, I look forward to the possibility of working together to create something exceptional!

RECENT WORK

Twilight of Adolescence

This project was a collaboration with Jeremy Jones, where we joined forces to create this film. Alongside myself and another filmer, Hank Weaver (my nephew), Jeremy Jones and his daughter Mia embarked on a two-day winter camping trip in the Eastern Sierra. Jeremy originally wrote a piece for a magazine about the trip, which I adapted into a voiceover script. With the addition of graphics from Autumn Line Studios and the footage captured during the trip, we brought the story vividly to life.

First Tracks

First Tracks was an exciting project for 805, aimed at uniting their snow athletes with a moto athlete to capture a unique mountain experience. I took charge of direction, cinematography, and editing, ensuring the story unfolded seamlessly on screen. Keith White contributed the sound design, adding an immersive auditory layer, while 805 crafted the graphics to complement the visuals. The collaboration brought together diverse talents to create a compelling narrative that celebrates adventure and camaraderie in the mountains.

Discover Jones Outerwear

I collaborated with the Jones marketing team to produce a video highlighting their outerwear through a technical lens. By combining dynamic in-field action and lifestyle scenes with precise, technical studio shots, we achieved the perfect atmosphere to showcase the product’s features. I handled direction, principal cinematography, and editing, while graphics were created by Autumn Line Studios. Additional footage was captured by Hank Weaver.

Hovercraft 2.0 the evolution of a legend

I collaborated with the Jones Marketing team to create this video to tell the story of redesigning one of their most popular shapes. To align with the campaign's title, I developed a concept that incorporates a documentary-style approach. This style allowed us to capture the authentic process behind the redesign, highlighting the creativity and innovation involved. Through carefully planned videography and editing, the video presents a compelling narrative that connects viewers with the brand’s commitment to quality and design evolution. The documentary format emphasizes real voices and behind-the-scenes moments, making the campaign both engaging and trustworthy.

Between two rides Season 1 and 2

Season one of Between two rides I was hired to work with a grip to place and monitor all in car cameras. we used sony FX3’s with a variety of different len’s.

For season 2 I was hired again to place and monitor all in car camera’s, but I was also operating a red raptor shooting mostly 240fps slow motion shots to highlight certain parts of the scenes.

Trail Blazers

Trail Blazers is a narrative-driven contest recap video centered on Research and Development (RND), an all-female backcountry snowboard competition. Unlike a typical event recap, this edit delves deeper by including interviews with the athletes and exploring their perspectives to highlight what makes RND a unique and empowering contest.

As the principal cinematographer, I led the visual storytelling, capturing the raw energy and authentic moments throughout the event. Supporting me was an additional shooter, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the competition’s dynamic environment. To refine the narrative and deliver a polished final product, I hired a dedicated editor who shaped the footage into a cohesive and engaging story.

This collaborative approach allowed the video to portray not only the competition’s high-level athleticism but also the personal stories and community spirit that make RND stand out within the backcountry snowboarding scene.

Sierra Cement

Sierra Cement is a prime example of real-time content creation. This edit was entirely unplanned—while out shooting, Jeremy Jones and I spontaneously developed the concept on the spot. There is a unique energy in being spontaneous, which allows us to surprise the audience and deliver fresh, authentic moments. Additionally, this approach inspires viewers to get out and snowboard, even when conditions are less than ideal, showing that passion and creativity can overcome any obstacle.

Ride along Review Series

Ride Along Reviews is a unique series designed to bring product reviews to life by adding an immersive, real-time perspective. By equipping a rider with a microphone as they test a board, the series captures authentic, spontaneous feedback that goes beyond traditional scripted reviews. My role involves directing and filming these sessions to ensure high-quality visuals and sound, while the rider provides unscripted commentary, sharing genuine thoughts and reactions on the spot. This approach adds an engaging, dynamic element to product reviews, making them more relatable and enjoyable for viewers.

Jones 2025 Season Launch Video

Drop into Jones 2025. This stoke edit was created to get people excited for the season and to build hype around the gear. I handpicked the music track to set a vibe that I felt would connect with our audience, pairing it with visuals carefully selected to match. Shot and edited by me.

2023 Jones Surf Series

The 2023 Jones Surf Series offers an in-depth exploration of the inspiration behind these uniquely surf-shaped snowboards. Taking a closer, more intimate approach, we sat down with Chris to gain insight into his creative process and the vision that guides the shaping of each board. His perspective reveals the blend of surfing dynamics and snowboarding performance that defines the series, highlighting the craftsmanship and passion that bring these boards to life. Through Chris’s eyes, we see how the natural flow of surfing translates into snowboarding terrain, creating boards that not only perform but also tell a story of innovation and connection to the waves.

How to mount your bindings

Creating evergreen content like our "How to Mount Your Bindings" video is a proven strategy to generate sustained watch time and views. To maximize its professionalism and viewer engagement, careful planning and production are essential.

We began by designing a clean, visually appealing set that included thoughtfully arranged props to enhance the instructional aspect. Adding a colored light helped introduce depth and visual interest, making the scene more inviting and dynamic.

Scripting the content ensured clarity and precision in delivering the information, while using a teleprompter allowed for smooth and natural delivery, minimizing retakes and maintaining viewer trust.

In post-production, subtle sound effects and seamless transitions were incorporated to maintain viewer attention without overshadowing the instructional content. These enhancements contribute to a polished final product that not only educates but also entertains, encouraging repeat views and shares.

By combining professional setup, detailed planning, and creative editing, this type of content remains relevant and continues to perform effectively over time.

The Lodge Boys

The Lodge Boys is one of my favorite edits I created while working at Jones. It captures the story of three close friends and how they earned the nickname “The Lodge Boys.” More importantly, this edit highlights the joy of heading out with good friends and riding together, emphasizing friendship and the thrill of the ride.
